Stars on ice?? Big-time celeb spotting happens at Preds games
They call it "hockey-tonkin'," hitting
Nashville Predators games at the Bridgestone Arena on Lower Broadway, home to many of the city's great honky-tonks.
And if you go, you'll probably see a star:
Carrie Underwood, for instance, is married to one of the Preds, one Mike Fisher.
Dierks Bentley is going to the game here and in Phoenix for the second-round playoffs that are happening right now.
Heck,
Keith Urban and
Nicole Kidman even wore yellow playoff T-shirts at the arena recently.
Vince Gill was even spotted taunting one of the Red Wings players in the first round of the playoffs last month. And
Reba was spotted in a luxury suite for the Nashville-Detroit series.
Now if we could only see Little Jimmy Dickens skating around between periods. . . .
Sheryl Crow runs the half-marathon: All she wants to do is have some fun
OK, so very cool that
Nashville has a marathon every year. Even cooler that you might be running next to a celebrity!
Sheryl Crow has a farm in nearby Williamson County, and she decided to do her very first half marathon.
Sheryl ran to raise money and awareness for
New Hope Academy, a Christian school for low-income kids.
And a pretty good time for a beginner: Sheryl ran 13 miles in just under two hours. Mazel tov!
Other amazing sightings include Ryan Seacrest, Eli Manning and Ted Danson!
And it's not just country stars you'll see here in Music City! Some spottings just this week:
- Actor Ted Danson (Sam from "Cheers") and his actress wife, Mary Steenburgen, here to shoot a TV show in Nashville, were spotted Sunday at Bricktop's with Kim Carnes ("Bette Davis Eyes"), Jeff Hanna from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and singer/songwriter Matraca Berg.
- "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, dating actress/singer/part-time Nashvillian Julianne Hough, spotted at the Franklin, Tn., Starbucks and Franklin's Main Street Festival.
- Julianne Hough at Franklin's trendy Burger Up restaurant
- And Super Bowl champion QB Eli Manning (married to a Nashville native) was spotted at Lonnie's karaoke bar in Printer's Alley. No word if Eli sang or not.
